Reid Hoffman, the billionaire co-founder of LinkedIn, was among the biggest donors to House Majority PAC (HMP), a major Democratic fundraising group, according to Federal Election Commission filings released last week. The group is now airing advertisements built around Jeffrey Epstein, and Hoffman has faced scrutiny over his own past ties to the disgraced financier.

As Election Day approaches, HMP has been spending heavily to argue that Republicans have not delivered on promises of transparency about Epstein's child sex trafficking and about whether he arranged illegal sexual encounters for others. The filings do not show which donor money paid for which ads. Hoffman's contribution, however, arrived as HMP stepped up its Epstein-focused advertising roughly two weeks before election night.

One campaign targets Rep. Nick Begich, R-Alaska, over his vote against a procedural motion that would have moved the Epstein Files Transparency Act forward. Begich later supported the bill, which passed with near-unanimous backing. The ad says Epstein "was protected by the elites," names Begich among them, and says Alaskans need someone who "cares more about bringing down costs than protecting a rapist." FEC records show HMP has spent $543,300 on that campaign.

The law, which took effect in November 2025, directs the Justice Department to release records connected to Epstein while including protections to keep his victims' identities hidden.

HMP has also spent in other battleground contests. FEC records show $480,000 in Iowa's Second Congressional District, $2.06 million in Pennsylvania's 1st District, $550,150 in Arizona's 2nd District and $628,000 in Pennsylvania's 8th Congressional District. According to the advertising-tracking service ADMO, all of those ads began running within the past week.

At least one Republican has called the arrangement hypocritical. Natalie Baldassarre, a spokesperson for the Republican National Committee, said in a statement to Fox News Digital that Democrats accept money in politics when it helps them, "even if it comes from certified perverts like Reid Hoffman who maintained a relationship with Epstein after his conviction."

Records released through the Justice Department's Epstein Files library show that Hoffman and Epstein exchanged correspondence and gifts over many years and helped raise money for MIT's Media Lab. The records also indicate Hoffman visited Epstein's private island and his home in New York. In a Christmas Eve email in 2014, Hoffman told Epstein he had sent two gifts to his New York address, one of them a surfer statue intended for the island.

Hoffman has consistently denied wrongdoing. In 2019 he told The Wall Street Journal that he regretted continuing the relationship after Epstein's 2008 conviction on charges of soliciting prostitution from a minor. He said his last interaction with Epstein was in 2015, and that by joining fundraising activity where Epstein was present, "I helped to repair his reputation and perpetuate injustice." He added: "For this, I am deeply regretful."

The records cited by Fox News Digital contain no allegation that Hoffman took part in Epstein's sex-trafficking crimes. The outlet asked HMP whether it knew of Hoffman's past relationship with Epstein when it accepted his donation, and whether it sees the contribution as consistent with its Epstein messaging. Representatives for Hoffman were also contacted. Neither had responded.
