A fire damaged Rene’s Mexican Kitchen last month, and the community has come together to help owner Rene Valenzuela get back on his feet. On Friday, Nov. 6, Spaddy’s Coffee Co. in Seminole Heights will host a fundraiser for the taco shop, offering free food and drinks from a variety of local businesses. The event will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 5206 N Florida Ave.
The menu includes sliders from Burger Spot, Italian sausages from Boozy Pig, donuts from Supernatural, brews from Magnanimous Brewing, and more. Valenzuela has a GoFundMe campaign that is nearly halfway to its $20,000 goal. Donations to the tip jar are also encouraged at the event.
The fundraiser will feature food from Mise en Place, Station House BBQ, Supernatural, Boozy Pig, Happy Fish, Burger Spot, Retro House, Asados Al Carbon, Gaston Catering, Niaddi, Chef Stuart Morton, Street Light Tacos, Rene’s Mexican Kitchen, Saucin Wings, Spaddy’s Coffee, Grand Cathedral Cigar, Magnanimous Brewing, and more. This community effort shows the support for Valenzuela and his restaurant.
The event will take place at Spaddy’s Coffee Co. in Seminole Heights, and the public is invited to attend from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6. This fundraiser is part of the ongoing effort to help Rene’s Mexican Kitchen recover from the fire. The community’s response has been strong, and the event is expected to bring even more support to Valenzuela and his business.
